Big straws became more prevalent as people started to craze over these teas with round gelatinous balls to chew after every sip.

Sharing a few key techniques in keeping your boba or pearls soft and chewy, here is the recipe for Pearl Milk Tea.  This recipe makes 2 servings or one big serve if you are not willing to share.

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup Bubble Tea Pearls black or boba
6-8 cups boiling water
1 cup sugar (preferrably brown)

1 cup boiling water
1 tsp Black tea
2 Tbsp evaporated milk or milk substitute (ie. soya or the like)
1 cup ice
bubble tea straws or a tall spoon to scoop the pearls

DIRECTIONS:
(Pearls preparation)
In a saucepan boil 1 cup water with the 1 tsp black tea of your choice.

Let it come to a boil. Set aside for 20 minutes.

(Brewed Black Tea)
In a different saucepan, boil the 6-8 cups water and 1 cup Bubble Tea Pearls for 20 minutes.

Drain the water and put in a different container.
Add the sugar while pearls are still hot. Set aside.

(Assembly)
Put about 1/4 cup of cooked pearls in the bottom of a tall glass.

Add 1/2 cup ice into glass before putting in tea strain from the one we brewed. Add milk.
