Banana Rolls with Almond Black Tea Recipe

Try these lovely banana rolls as a snack or for afternoon tea sessions.

This recipe makes banana rolls that are just sweet enough with the help of raw sugar, jam and sweet tea.

INGREDIENTS:
30x30cm sheet of ready made puff pastry
1 ripe banana
1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
1 Tbsp raw sugar or brown sugar
2 Tbsp peach jam

1/2 cup water
2 Tbsp Teas.com.au Sweet Almond Black Tea

DIRECTIONS:
Let pastry thaw down to room temperature.

While waiting, preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

In a small saucepan, place jam and water and bring to a boil over low heat.

When syrup starts to boil, add the Sweet Almond Tea leaves and stir for 1 minute.

Turn off heat, set aside with cover for 5 minutes.

Strain out the leaves from the syrup.

Back to the pastry, slice the banana into thick pieces and lay them in a roll about 2/3 way down the pastry.

Sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar across the entire sheet of pastry.

Roll the pastry starting from the area where the banana slices are.

Slice the rolled pastry about 5cm long. You should end up with 6 rolls.

Place these rolls (swirly sides up) in a baking dish or a 9inch diameter non-stick baking pan.

Bake for 25-30 minutes.

Take the rolls out of the oven and pour the syrup on top.

Let the banana rolls rest for at least a minute before pulling apart and serving.

Enjoy!
