Ice Cream with Sundance and Earl Grey Tea Recipe

Full-flavored ice cream brought by combining two great teas! The fun doesn't stop there as this tea recipe doesn't need an ice cream maker.

As always, use loose leaf tea leaves for the best result.

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups milk
3 Tbsp Sundance black tea
1 cup sugar
pinch of salt
4 egg yolks
2 tsp cornstarch
2 cups cream

EQUIPMENT:
medium saucepan

DIRECTIONS:
Heat up milk in a saucepan under low medium heat.

Pour in both Sundance and Earl Grey Romantica tea leaves and let simmer for 10 minutes stirring continuously. Take away from heat and let it sit covered for another 10 minutes.

Put eggs and sugar in a mixing bowl and beat together.

Place saucepan with milk mixture again on low heat.

Pour in egg mixture slowly. Cook while stirring constantly until mixture thickens.

In a separate bowl, get disolve the cornstarch in 1 Tbsp cream before pouring it into the egg mixture.

Stir constantly and when the mix is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon, take the saucepan out of the heat.

Strain tea leaves.

Add the rest of the cream and pinch of salt then mix.

Pour the mixture into small containers and freeze for 6 hours or overnight.

Enjoy your ice cream!
